Our teaching
Our core distinctives
These five distinctives are central in shaping our teaching, singing, and gathering as a local church family.

The short version
These are the emphases visitors most often notice in our preaching, worship, and church life.
Bible exposition
We normally preach through books of Scripture so the text sets the agenda.
God’s sovereignty
God rules all things for his glory and the good of his people.
Elder leadership
Qualified elders shepherd the church through teaching, care, and oversight.
Membership
Christians belong to one another in a real, accountable local church family.
Biblical worship
Our gathering is simple, reverent, and centered on God’s word and gospel.
1. Expository preaching
God’s word is the only true, inerrant, and ultimate authority. We preach through books of the Bible so that the point of the text is the point of the sermon (Nehemiah 8:4–12; 2 Timothy 4:1–2).
2. God’s sovereignty
The triune God rules all things by his holy, unchanging will, for our good and his glory. A high view of God is the ground of our salvation, peace, and hope (Isaiah 46:8–11; Acts 4:27–28).
3. Elder-led
The church is to be shepherded by a plurality of biblically qualified men who teach the whole counsel of God in the home and in the church (1 Timothy 3:1–7; 1 Peter 5:1–5; Titus 1:5–9).
4. Church membership
God has always identified a people for himself. We belong to the Lord by faith and express that belonging in committed relationship to a local body of believers (1 Corinthians 12; Hebrews 13:17).
5. Biblical worship
Worship is beholding the glory of God. Our songs and service order are meant to exalt the greatness of God and the work of Christ, not to put on a performance (Psalm 96:1–6; Colossians 3:16–17).
